Electrochemical deburring is a precise and non-invasive method ideal for processing delicate components. This technique allows burrs to be removed completely without physical contact or mechanical stress. Additionally, it can create radiused edges and shape cavities in targeted areas.
The process begins by mounting and grounding the component in a fixture. An electrolyte solution is then applied to the area requiring treatment, and an electrode is positioned close to the surface. When electrical current is activated, the electrolyte dissolves the burr, which is then flushed away. Any residue is collected and removed through filtration.
This highly efficient process ensures that the rest of the component remains untouched, making it especially valuable for applications in the aerospace, automotive, and hydraulics industries. It is particularly well-suited for high-volume production.
